What we do

It all starts with the desire to make a difference

Proyecto ALA is an initiative that helps neglected animals, those in vulnerable condition, as well as those victims of cruelty and mistreatment. This is done through direct interventions in the most vulnerable communities, with strategic alliances that allow the promotion of animal welfare as an integral component of the changes in attitude and actions in people, as well as its inclusion in public or corporate policies, and strengthening the local animal protection organizations. All of these will positively impact the environment, the communities and the animals.

Working with local animal protection organizations

Grassroots organizations perform an amazing work by helping needed animals.

We want to maximize their actions!

Many local organizations of different size and structure focus on various issues related to animal protection and welfare. This is usually done with scarce resources.
The support to grassroots organizations on various areas through training, advise, and guidance in topics such as animals in disasters, humane dog and cat population control, organizational development, and working animals amongst others, help these institutions to perform more effectively their valuable work.

Networking and legislative initiatives for

the change animals need

Networking with organizations that seek a better world for animals

is vital to be able to obtain positive changes for them.

We network in different areas in which animal welfare is involved and hold alliances with organizations all over the region. This way we become more effective.

We also believe there must be a legal base to end with animal cruelty, reason why we look for changes at the legislative level for the benefit of animals.

Private and public sectors must play an important role for animals through the production of policies that assure their welfare.

Animals and risk management

Animals are also victims of the natural disasters.

We believe that building a strong base that includes public policies for animals in disasters is vital to safeguard the welfare of the communities and its animals. We consider that municipalities and countries must count with trained teams to reduce risk and, given the case, provide assistance to animals victims of a natural disaster, including their subsequent recovery. This work must go hand in hand with humanitarian organizations and local animal protection groups.
